Who we are

Professional Biz Minds started in Lower Thielbury with a straightforward idea: businesses deserve consulting that speaks their language, not jargon-filled slide decks that collect dust. Our team of five consultants brings direct experience in manufacturing, retail, SaaS, and professional services.

We have spent the past eight years working with over 120 companies across Wales and England. Most of our clients have between 10 and 250 employees. Some come to us when cash flow tightens. Others want a second opinion before launching a new product line or entering a new market.

Every engagement starts with listening. We review your numbers, talk to your team, and watch how work actually moves through your organisation before recommending anything. That process typically takes two weeks, and it saves months of guesswork later.

What we do

Six core service areas, each tailored to the size and sector of your business.

Strategy development

We build 12-month and 3-year plans grounded in your actual margins, market position, and capacity. You get a written roadmap with quarterly milestones, not a vague vision statement.

Operations improvement

Bottlenecks cost money every day they stay in place. We map your workflows, identify the three or four changes that will have the biggest impact, and help your team implement them within 60 days.

Financial planning

Cash flow forecasting, cost reduction audits, and pricing analysis. We work alongside your accountant or finance team rather than replacing them, giving you a second pair of eyes on the numbers that matter most.

People and culture

Hiring the wrong person at the wrong time can set a small company back six months. We help you define roles clearly, build interview processes that filter for real skill, and create retention plans that keep your best people.

Growth advisory

Scaling too fast breaks things. Scaling too slowly lets competitors fill the gap. We model different growth scenarios with real numbers so you can pick the pace that your infrastructure and team can actually support.

Digital readiness

Not every business needs a full digital transformation. Sometimes you just need the right CRM, a better invoicing tool, or a simple dashboard. We assess what technology will genuinely save you time and money, then help you set it up.

How we work with you

1

Discovery call

A 30-minute phone or video call where we learn what is going on in your business and whether we are the right fit. No charge, no obligation.

2

Diagnostic review

Over two weeks we review financials, interview key staff, and observe operations. You receive a written diagnostic report with findings and priorities.

3

Action plan

We present a concrete plan with timelines, responsibilities, and expected outcomes. You approve the scope before any implementation work begins.

4

Implementation support

We work alongside your team for 8 to 12 weeks, meeting weekly to track progress, adjust tactics, and solve problems as they come up.

What our clients say

They looked at our delivery schedule and found a simple change in routing that cut fuel costs by 14% in three months. We had been too close to the problem to see it ourselves.

The team helped us prepare for our first external investment round. They restructured our pitch, cleaned up our projections, and coached me through due diligence. We closed the round in eight weeks.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a typical engagement cost?

Our diagnostic review starts at £2,400 for companies with fewer than 50 employees. Implementation support is priced per week, typically between £1,200 and £2,800 depending on scope. We agree the total before work starts, and there are no hidden fees.

Do you work with businesses outside Wales?

Yes. About 40% of our clients are based elsewhere in the UK. We do most of our work remotely via video calls and shared documents, with on-site visits scheduled when they add real value.

How long before we see results?

Quick wins from operational changes usually show within the first month. Strategic shifts like entering a new market or restructuring a team take three to six months to produce measurable outcomes. We set clear benchmarks at the start so progress is visible along the way.

What industries do you specialise in?

Our deepest experience is in manufacturing, retail, professional services, and SaaS. That said, the principles of sound operations and financial management apply broadly. If your challenge is one we have not seen before, we will tell you upfront rather than pretend otherwise.

Can you work alongside our existing accountant or solicitor?

Absolutely. We prefer it. Your accountant knows your books better than we ever will, and your solicitor understands your legal obligations. We coordinate with them to make sure recommendations are practical and compliant.
